A comprehensive and very easy-to-use audio test system toolkit for the PC. Dayton Audio’s DATS-V2 is a powerful, versatile measurement and analysis device for use to build better loudspeaker systems. DATS measures over 30,000 data points in just a few seconds using a new swept sine technique. The result is a very high-resolution impedance measurement that allows the extraction of an extremely accurate driver parameter set, suitable for the most critical loudspeaker design work.
The highly successful Dayton Audio WT3 speaker tester has now outgrown its name! DATS V2, the Dayton Audio Test System, is the proud successor to the WT3, includes everything WT3 users have come to love about that system—but adds much more. Don’t worry, the new system still measures loudspeaker parameters or R, L, and C values in just seconds and still includes the WT3’s unique Rub and Buzz test. But now with the introduction of DATS V2, the system has grown beyond impedance testing and T/S measurements to include a second test mode featuring a general purpose signal generator and oscilloscope working in tandem.
The scope and generator combination provides a powerful general purpose audio test set. When used with the DATS V2 hardware, the oscilloscope monitors the DATS V2 generator output and is calibrated. When standard audio interfaces are available, the oscilloscope input can be switched to another device to allow the monitoring of arbitrary input signals in addition to the DATS V2 generator output.
DATS V2 provides the following improvements over WT3:

Free air parameters are measured in just a few seconds. Vas can be measured by traditional test box, added mass, SPL, or calculated from the driver’s specified Mmd. No other impedance tester is as fast, versatile, or as easy to use as DATS V2.
DATS V2 hardware consists of a compact USB interface unit with attached USB cable and alligator clip leads. It’s manufactured on state-of-the-art equipment using precision surface mount components. Windows compatible software provides an easy-to-use interface that allows you to be up and running very quickly. You can save as many as 20 impedance measurements per project and then overlay and compare any or all of the measurements to create a custom report complete with all your notes. Perfect for quick incoming QC inspections.
